The “GADS” is about “orienteering” the Annapolis environment—a nautical term for navigation of new terrains. Exploration focuses on day trips within the region, with destinations in the Maryland/DC region, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and possibly New York. Venues offer learning and entertainment in cultural, historical, institutional and gastronomical settings—renown, novel and obscure.
New Annapolitans-New Adventures (NANAs)
This group meets every Tuesday morning throughout the year, walking and exploring Annapolis and the Greater Annapolis area starting no later than 9:30 a.m. Excursions to other areas are held once a month. The walks are planned and led by a member of the group, followed by an optional stop for coffee or lunch for excursions walks. In inclement weather, they walk indoors at the Annapolis Mall.
On Wednesdays, a group rotates through three local locations—The Naval Academy, Eastport and Murray Hill, leaving at 8:30 a.m. They do not walk on the first Wednesday of the month September through June so that members can attend the General Meetings. In inclement weather, the walk is cancelled.
